This weekend is the 10th Black Bear Film Festival in Milford, PA. In previous years, I interviewed Farley Granger and Arlene Dahl on the festival stage, but this year I’ll be doing a program at the opening-night gala on Friday, October 16th, at the historic Tom Quick Inn in downtown Milford. “Bloopers, Secrets, and Surprises in Classic Hollywood Movies” is a brand-new film-clips program featuring shocking continuity errors in old movies, surprise celebrity cameos, early appearances by soon-to-be superstars, etc. You’ll see Cary Grant, Lucille Ball, Ava Gardner, Tony Curtis, and many other favorites. It was great fun to put together, lasts about a half hour, and promises to be an all-around good time for film buffs. Check out the festival’s site (www.blackbearfilm.com) or call the office (570-409-0909) for ticket information.
Then, on Sunday the 18th from 11am to 12, I’ll be doing another all-new program, “Great Moments from the Golden Age of the Hollywood Musical,” a collection of great clips with, of course, Fred and Ginger, Judy, Gene, Doris, and Cyd. This will also be at the Tom Quick, as part of the festival’s film salon. And it’s free!
Hope to see you over the weekend. Spread the word!

Sounds wonderful. Wish I could be there. Think of me when the Lucy clip shows.

It’s the clip of her as the florist girl in TOP HAT. I’m going to make people guess who it is.
